Responsibilities
- Manage patient intake, appointment scheduling, and follow-up communications using OPEN DENTAL and Practice by Numbers.
- Verify insurance coverage, conduct insurance eligibility checks, and perform insurance verification
- Handle medical billing processes, including collections, and payment posting while maintaining meticulous records
- Review and process dental documentation including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and care plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Customer service with attention to details
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
Experience
- Proven clinic in patient coordination and administrative support
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, health insurance policies, and health information management practices
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, ICD coding standards for billing purposes
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, ) along with (10 key typing)
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and customer service excellence
- Ability to handle clinical confidentiality policies diligently while managing sensitive patient information
