Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed.
- Take X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records in Oryx and ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care.
- Provide excellent customer service by scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Maintain infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of safety within the clinic.
- Support general administrative tasks such as treatment planning and assisting with billing processes.
- Collaborate seamlessly in a four-handed dentistry setup to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
Experience
- Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging tools including 3D scanners, and pediatric dentistry procedures is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry environments; experience supporting prosthodontics or endodontic procedures is a plus.
- Ability to handle administrative duties related to medical records management and billing with accuracy and professionalism.
