Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all clinical supplies are ready for use.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans accurately while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA privacy regulations.
• Provide patient care by explaining procedures in Spanish, taking vital signs, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards.
• Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy to effectively assist with clinical documentation and patient education.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required for effective communication with patients and team members.
• Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
• Certification or training in dental assisting, dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, or related fields preferred.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
• Strong understanding of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and medical coding practices.
• Commitment to patient care excellence with a focus on clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare infection prevention standards.
