We are looking for a Full-time Super Star Orthodontic Assistant to join our office. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, detail oriented, caring and a compassionate individual to connect with parents and patients. It is also important that this person possesses a positive attitude with professional commitment and is friendly and out-going in a team-oriented environment. We are looking for someone looking for a LONG TERM position and join our family.
Duties or responsibilities: • Greet, escort and seat patients for orthodontic appointments • Review health history according to office procedures • Take digital X-rays • Assist Orthodontist in management of emergencies • Take impressions, pour and trim models • Clean and set up rooms for next patient • Adheres to all OSHA, HIPPA and Federal rules and regulations • Discuss with patients the instructions for care • Observes professional dress code • Be cost-effective and responsible for the care of assigned equipment/ supplies • Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the Doctor • Complete proper sterilization, biohazard and infection control • Sterilize and organize instruments • Store sterilized instruments and set up examination trays with required dental instruments for scheduled procedures and duties • Prepare patient records (photos and x-rays) • Stock supplies and maintain dental equipment to meet practice and manufacturer guidelines • Manage patient flow
Requirements: (The applicant must meet the following requirements) • High School diploma • Completion of an approved Dental Assistant program and certification as a Dental Assistant (RDA) • 1 or more years of orthodontic experience. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY • Excellent communication skills • Ability to multi-task • Availability to work during applicable business hours • Ability to work well with children of all ages • Ability to work under pressure and who understand and follow the chain of command • English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions • X-ray license • Willingness to be cross-trained
