Experienced Dental Treatment Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our growing practice. This position is ideal for a results-driven dental professional with a strong background in treatment presentation, dental insurance, patient financing, and front office operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Present comprehensive treatment plans and educate patients on recommended care.
- Calculate patient financial responsibility, prepare accurate treatment estimates, and discuss payment options.
- Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and understand frequency limitations, downgrades, exclusions, and annual maximums.
- Submit and track pre-treatment estimates and coordinate with insurance carriers as needed.
- Schedule treatment efficiently to maximize provider productivity and meet production goals.
- Collect patient payments, post transactions accurately.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records, treatment notes, and financial documentation.
- Review unscheduled treatment and follow up with patients to improve case acceptance.
- Coordinate communication between providers, clinical staff, and patients to ensure seamless treatment delivery.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of dental front office experience.
- Demonstrated experience presenting treatment plans and increasing case acceptance.
- Strong knowledge of PPO dental insurance plans, including benefit breakdowns, pre-authorizations, claim processing, and coordination of benefits.
- Experience preparing accurate treatment estimates and financial arrangements.
- Ability to read and interpret dental charts, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Curve, Open Dental, or similar).
- Experience processing patient payments, balancing daily deposits, and managing accounts receivable.
- Working knowledge of CDT procedure codes, dental terminology, and common dental procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Excellent accuracy with data entry and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of production scheduling and schedule optimization.
- Experience monitoring KPIs such as case acceptance, treatment completion, collections, and schedule utilization.
- Familiarity with patient financing programs, including CareCredit and Cherry.
