We are a Pediatric Dental Practice seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist/Insurance Coordinator to join our vibrant team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling Curve software
- Verify patient insurance coverage, explain benefits, and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
- Process insurance claims accurately, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and ensure timely reimbursement using health insurance knowledge including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and HIPAA compliance
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality according to clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, collect payments, and perform medical collection activities as needed
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness to support clinical care plans and billing processes
- Manage phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and vendors with professional phone etiquette
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Receptionist or Insurance Coordinator within a dental or medical office setting
- Strong knowledge of Curve, Dentrix or similar platforms
- Familiarity with medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards for accurate billing and documentation review
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing skills
- Ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and strong phone etiquette
- Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information
- Prior clinic experience with dental or medical office management or administrative support is highly desirable
