Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with the dentist, hygienists, and patients to ensure smooth, efficient, and comfortable dental visits. You will be instrumental in maintaining clinical excellence, infection control standards, and fostering a welcoming environment for all patients. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental radiography equipment while adhering to HIPAA and infection prevention policies.
  • Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Tracker; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
  • Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
  • Follow strict infection prevention management protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures for dental instruments.
  • Support chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of dental equipment and assist with the operation of specialized tools such as intraoral cameras and dental x-ray machines.
  • Uphold healthcare infection control standards through diligent sterilization practices and adherence to clinical safety protocols.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology enhances your ability to support clinical teams effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and dental instrument processing is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
  • Certification in dental assisting or related healthcare fields is advantageous; ongoing training in healthcare infection prevention and control is encouraged.
