Senior Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, patient-focused Senior Dental Assistant to join our growing clinical team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with advanced clinical expertise in complex restorative procedures—including crown and bridge, porcelain veneers, and implant restorations.
The ideal candidate must be fully proficient in modern digital workflows, specifically intraoral digital scanning and managing the clinical aspects of Invisalign clear aligner therapy. You will work closely with our doctors to deliver high-precision restorative care while providing an outstanding, comfortable experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Restorative Support
- Provide skilled chairside assisting during complex fixed prosthetic procedures, including crown and bridge preparations/deliveries, veneer placement, and multi-unit implant restorations.
- Fabricate, trim, and adjust aesthetic temporary crowns, bridges, and provisional veneers.
- Prepare, organize, and inspect specialized surgical and restorative implant kits, componentry, and impression materials.
- Manage isolation techniques (rubber dam, retractor systems) and gingival retraction (cord placement, tissue management) for optimal digital and traditional impressions.
Digital Dentistry & Technology
- Perform precise, full-arch intraoral digital scans (e.g., iTero, ) for crowns, bridges, implants and clear aligners.
- Manage the complete clinical workflow for Invisalign, including capturing record scans, taking clinical photographs, placing attachments, and delivering alignment trays.
- Assist with digital lab submissions, track incoming/outgoing lab cases, and inspect restorative fabrications for quality prior to seating appointments.
Patient Care & Office Operations
- Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care for restorative work, and proper maintenance for implants and Invisalign aligners.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines for infection control, instrument sterilization, and treatment room turnaround.
- Take high-quality digital radiographs and panoramic Xrays as directed by the dentist.
- Keep clinical inventory stocked and organized, maintaining relationships with dental labs and suppliers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on chairside dental assisting experience, with explicit experience in crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant restorations.
- Digital Proficiency: Proven proficiency with intraoral digital scanners (iTero experience strongly preferred) and hands-on experience with Invisalign workflows.
- Certifications:
- Active Dental Assistant Certification / RDA / CDA license (per state requirements).
- State X-ray / Radiology certification.
- Current CPR / BLS certification.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in temporary fabrication, impression-taking, and digital record-keeping.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, and professional demeanor to build trust with patients and collaborate smoothly with doctors and staff.
