Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene techniques, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs
- Take and develop dental x-rays (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA and infection prevention standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and medical records while reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management
- Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or both is highly preferred
- Skilled in infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and infection control practices
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental health topics
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
