Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment to ensure readiness for each procedure
• Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
• Take dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols and proper documentation
• Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) system such as Open Dental, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices
• Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote ongoing dental wellness
• Ensure all dental sterilization procedures are followed meticulously to prevent infection transmission and uphold clinical cleanliness standards

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental or Dentrix for managing dental documentation and records
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and relevant to dental care
• Proficiency in taking X-rays (dental x-ray), operating dental equipment, including 3D scanners when applicable, and performing dental instrument processing
• Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control protocols aligned with clinical confidentiality policies
• Ability to perform vital signs assessments and assist with oral surgery or endodontic procedures as needed
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or patient management software user to facilitate smooth patient flow
