Kids Dental Pals is a specialized practice dedicated to providing comprehensive orthodontic and pediatric dental care. Located in Simi Valley, we serve patients from infancy through young adulthood, including orthodontic cases. Our team of highly trained dentists are recognized for delivering exceptional care and compassionate dentistry.
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant with coronal polish certificate and RDA or OA to join our dynamic team. We are looking for 2 new team members. This can be either a Full-Time or Part-Time position.
Compensation is commiserate to your years of experience and licensure.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Orthodontic (RDA OR OA) and pediatric dentistry (RDA or DA with CP), with expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental imaging. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a busy practice that emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including pediatric restorative, and orthodontic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient appointments.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and proper aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend, including documenting medical history and treatment notes.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the front desk as needed with dental receptionist duties.
Qualifications
- Valid Radiography Certification (RDA, DA, OA) required; experience with X-ray procedures in a dental setting is essential.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix platforms is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure.
- Knowledge of dental imaging technology including 3D scanners; experience with medical coding and medical records management is beneficial.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
