Dental Hygienist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment planning.
- Take X-rays accurately
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records
- Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans for diverse patient populations, including pediatric dentistry cases.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current registration credentials.
- Radiology certification.
- CPR certification.
- OSHA certification.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous but not required.
