Job Summary

Looking for an experienced Lead Dental Assistant (X-ray Certified), where your skills will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our team of dental professionals. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management procedures.
  • Take high-quality dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort in compliance with dental x-ray safety protocols.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently.
  • Manage patient flow by updating medical records using patient management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient readiness before procedures to promote optimal care.
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, oral health practices, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and satisfaction.
  • Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly.
  • Support front desk operations as needed by handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing EMR systems to streamline clinic workflows.

Qualifications

  • Valid X-ray certification with demonstrated experience in taking diagnostic dental radiographs.
  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as for medical documentation and records management.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various treatments including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining professionalism under clinical confidentiality policies.
