Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various clinical procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient appointments.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering strictly to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.
  • Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment through proper dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient management software.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral scanners (such as 3D scanners), dental instruments, and other clinical tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology related to oral health conditions.
  • Certification or training in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry or aseptic technique is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide outstanding patient care in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
