Pediatric Dental Assistant

Shisler & Taylor Pediatric Dentistry is looking for an Operative Dental Assistant to join our Houston team. We’re seeking someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with children, and thrives in a fast-paced patient-focused environment. Experience in pediatrics is a plus and the right candidate must be open to training, demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Requirements: • Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • A caring, patient-focused demeanor

Preferred (but not required): • Nitrous Certified • Experience with either Dentrix/Eaglesoft/Open Dental software • Experience assisting in hygiene areas or setting up/breaking down operatories

Primary Responsibilities: • Assist the doctor during dental treatment cases for the pediatric patient • Prepare and seat patients for appointments • Charting and maintaining accurate records • Sterilize and organize instruments and supplies • Work alongside our team in both hygiene and operative areas • Help maintain patient flow and a clean, efficient work environment

Schedule: Please be aware our business hours do not dicate the patient in-office treatment time. Assistants must be prepared to remain at work past 5pm as the rotating late assistant and or due to a variety of clinical situations that affect the treatment timeline.

Business Hours:
• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM • No weekends!
