Overview
Join our growing practice as an Oral Surgical Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will support the doctor during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient process while maintaining the highest standards of safety and infection control. You will help create a comfortable experience for patients undergoing complex Oral Surgery, including IV Sedation, and Follow-Up appointments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow and contribute to a thriving healthcare practice committed to excellence. The job offer will be based off of an in-person, (3 day paid) working interview.
Responsibilities
-Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments and supplies, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
-Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures by providing instruments, maintaining suction, and ensuring adequate irrigation (water) throughout procedures. Managing dental materials, and monitoring patient vital signs.
-Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and intra oral scanning to capture accurate diagnostic images.
-Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) for accurate documentation of procedures, medical history, and treatment plans. Maintaining sterilization and drug logs.
-Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
-Coordinate with the dental receptionists for patient information, procedure details, and facilitate smooth patient flow within the office.
-Bilingual is a plus.
Skills
-Minimum of 1 yr experience in Oral Surgery and dental implants.
-Proficiency in assisting techniques including chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral structures.
-Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
-Ability to operate medical imaging equipment X-ray machines and intra oral scanning.
-Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring during procedures to ensure patient safety.
-Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and a strong team player. Having a DAANCE Certification is a plus
