Family Orthodontics – Lawrenceville, GA
Family Orthodontics is looking for an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our team in Lawrenceville. This position also requires travel to our Dacula, Athens, and Buford locations as needed.
Schedule Monday–Thursday: 7:15 AM–4:30 PM Occasional Fridays Travel between assigned offices is required. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist with all phases of orthodontic treatment Assist with bonding and debanding procedures Perform archwire changes and adjustments Place and remove elastomeric ties, power chains, and ligatures Assist with bracket placement and removal Take X-rays, intraoral photos, impressions, and digital scans Prepare patients for braces and clear aligner treatment Provide instructions on elastics, retainers, aligners, and oral hygiene Assist with retainer delivery and adjustments Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials Sterilize instruments and maintain infection-control standards Document treatment accurately in patient records Maintain efficient patient flow and support the orthodontist throughout the schedule Provide a positive and comfortable experience for patients and families Qualifications Dental assisting experience required Orthodontic assisting experience preferred Experience with bonding, debanding, archwire changes, and other orthodontic procedures preferred Knowledge of orthodontic terminology, instruments, and procedures Strong communication and patient-service skills Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Ability and willingness to travel to Lawrenceville, Dacula, Athens, and Buford as needed Maintain required dental assisting certifications as applicable
