Overview
Join our dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral health care! We are a fairly new office opened little over a year ago from scratch with all the updated ameneties. Our patients are very respctful and generally have excellent oral hygeine and keep up with their 6 months visit. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure a positive patient experience while promoting best practices in infection control and patient safety. We are a PPO /fee for service office and do not accept medicaid. We are looking for a part time hygeinist to start off with 1-2 days a week to begin with and can add more days as needed in the future. We are very flexible and open to your requirements. YOU GET TO PICK YOUR DAYS AND HOURS.
Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as open dental ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection control.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management to ensure accurate documentation review.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control expertise.
