Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient experience
• Take and develop medical imaging such as digital X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status prior to treatment, documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems)
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions using clear dental terminology
• Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
• Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control standards and managing dental instruments with precision

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with current certification to practice
• Experience in general dentistry settings with a focus on patient care, assessment, and charting
• Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures in a dental clinic environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, demonstrating compassion and professionalism
