Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist with the management patient records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination.
- Support the team with dental terminology explanations to ensure patient understanding of procedures.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and dental imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is required.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge is necessary.
- Experience supporting general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics will set candidates apart.
- Licensing and hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanning technology is highly advantageous.
