Dental Assistant

She came into the office holding her mom’s hand so tightly that her knuckles were white. She had been to the dentist before, and it had not gone well. By the time she reached us, she had already decided that dental offices were scary, the chair was dangerous, and no one was getting anywhere near her mouth.

So our assistant did not start with instruments. She started with her name. She asked about the stuffed animal tucked under her arm, showed her the mirror, let her press the button that moved the chair, and explained each sound before it happened. There was no rushing and no frustration, just patience.

A little while later, that same child climbed into the chair, opened her mouth, and made it through the visit. Before she left, she chose a sticker and proudly told her mom, “I was brave.”

Her mom thanked us over and over, but the truth is that moments like this are not created by equipment, schedules, or perfectly arranged trays. They are created by people! By dental assistants who understand that sometimes the most important part of the appointment happens before treatment even begins.

We are looking for a Dental Assistant or RDA who wants to create more moments like this. Someone who loves working with children, notices fear and responds with patience, takes pride in excellent care, and understands that one kind experience can change the way a child feels about the dentist for years.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
