Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice on TUESDAY and FRIDAY. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in Eaglesoft.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
- Support the front office with dental receptionist duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as required in various dental procedures.
- Assist in various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in chairside assisting, dental terminology, and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of EMR systems; experience with Eaglesoft is preferred.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience with medical documentation, coding, and records management is advantageous.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and infection control measures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages.
