Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our dental team. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to assist in various dental specialties, including endodontics, pediatrics, oral surgery and orthodontics. The Dental Assistant will ensure that all patient interactions are compliant with HIPAA regulations and maintain a welcoming environment for our patients. New grads are welcome and can get on the job training.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental software.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Perform basic administrative duties, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is essential.
- Experience with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental is preferred.
- Previous experience in assisting in endodontics or pediatrics, OS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Certification in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
