Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and hydroxyapatite treatments to promote healthy smiles.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding and engagement.
  • Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort during treatments.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems on Open Dental, documenting all patient interactions accurately while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
  • Maintain infection control standards by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental equipment, and following healthcare infection prevention guidelines.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
  • Familiarity with dental equipment, X-ray machines, and digital imaging technology used in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance management and infection prevention protocols.
  • Prior experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children in a clinical setting.

Expected hours: 21.0 – 28.0 per week
