Duties

• Conduct comprehensive orthodontic assessments, including dental and medical history review, clinical examinations, and diagnostic imaging.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans utilizing the latest orthodontic techniques and appliances.
• Perform orthodontic procedures such as placement of braces, aligners, retainers, and other appliances with precision and care.
• Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including referrals for related procedures like oral surgery or prosthodontics.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
• Educate patients on treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Stay current with advancements in orthodontics by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for documentation and treatment planning.
• Expertise in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including treating young patients with specialized approaches.
• Familiarity with anesthesia techniques used in dental procedures for patient comfort.
• Ability to perform dental diagnoses using medical imaging and clinical evaluation skills.
• Excellent client communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and empathetically.
• Deep understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
• Knowledge of orthodontic appliances, dental fabrication processes, dental implants, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and root canal therapy.
• Awareness of HIPAA guidelines, medical documentation standards, and compliance with all healthcare regulations.
• Strong foundation in anatomy knowledge relevant to oral structures and facial bones.
