Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Busy Private Dental Practice | Full-Time

We are a busy, patient-focused private dental practice seeking an experienced Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, dependable, organized, and a true team player. The right candidate understands that excellent dentistry goes beyond clinical skills—our patients’ care, comfort, and overall experience come first.

This position is ideal for an assistant who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, anticipates the needs of the dentist and patients, and is willing to step in wherever needed to help the office run smoothly.

  • Providing patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care information
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment rooms
  • Scheduling patient appointments as needed
  • Maintaining thorough, timely, and accurate clinical notes and patient records
  • Following established office policies, systems, and procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to keep the daily schedule running efficiently

    • Restorative dentistry
    • Other general dental procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to follow direction and adhere to established office policies and procedures

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently

Preferred Experience

Previous experience with the following dental technology and software is a plus:

  • Dentrix Ascend
  • CEREC
  • Primescan
  • DS Core

Who We Are Looking For

Clinical skills are important, but so is attitude. We are looking for someone who comes to work ready to contribute, communicates well, stays organized, and looks for ways to help rather than waiting to be asked.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Takes initiative and ownership of their responsibilities
  • Is dependable and punctual
  • Handles a busy clinical environment with professionalism
  • Pays attention to the small details
  • Accepts direction and feedback professionally
  • Communicates respectfully with patients and coworkers
  • Helps maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Understands that every team member contributes to the patient experience
  • Treats each patient with kindness, patience, respect, and compassion
