Orthodontic Dental Front Office
Job Description
About the Role Montclair Orthodontics is seeking an experienced dental front desk professional to join our established, privately owned orthodontic practice in Upper Montclair, NJ.
We are looking for someone who already understands the fundamentals of working in a dental practice and can bring excellent organizational skills, reliability, professionalism and patient service to our front office. Prior dental office experience is required; orthodontic experience is strongly preferred.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients, takes pride in staying organized and getting things right, and thrives in a busy, technology-driven practice.
What You'll Do • Patient check-in and check-out • Answering phones and managing patient communications • Scheduling and coordinating appointments • Maintaining accurate patient information and documentation • Dental insurance verification, documentation and claim-related tasks • Patient financial arrangements, contracts and payment processing • Coordinating treatment starts and required paperwork • Following up with prospective and existing patients • Managing multiple priorities while keeping the front office organized and responsive • Working closely with the orthodontist, clinical team and practice administrator • 7:30a - 5:00p Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; 8:30a - 6:00p Tuesdays
What You'll Bring Required: • At least 2 years of dental office experience, preferably in a front desk, patient coordinator, scheduling coordinator or treatment coordinator role • Working knowledge of dental terminology and the basic workflow of a dental practice • Experience with dental scheduling and patient management software • Familiarity with dental insurance and patient financial processes • Strong computer and technology skills • Excellent verbal and written communication • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through • Ability to learn new systems and retain training • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities without losing track of details • Dependable, punctual and professional Preferred: • Previous orthodontic office experience • Experience coordinating orthodontic or dental treatment • Experience with digital patient communication, electronic forms and modern cloud-based practice-management systems
