We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental practice for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patient oral health.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Document patient treatment plans and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilize dental software systems, such as Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping and Dexis for x-rays.
- Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
· Associates or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.
· Current California RDH license.
· Current basic life support (CPR) certification
· Current X-ray license.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health.
- Proficiency in infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of medical coding as it pertains to dental procedures.
- Previous experience in dental assisting is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with dental office systems and software, particularly Dentrix.
- Laser certification
