Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
  • Ability to operate dental equipment safely and effectively, including X-ray machines and other clinical tools.
  • Excellent patient communication skills with a focus on client education about dental care and treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR management for accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment history.
