Dental Office Manager
Job Description
Dental Office Manager, Binghamton
Good offices don't run on systems alone. They run on people who know what's expected of them, trust each other, and actually like showing up. We're looking for an Office Manager who can build that kind of team in our Binghamton office and keep it going.
About Us
Progressive Dental has been caring for patients in the Southern Tier since 1991. We're a privately owned, fee-for-service practice with five offices across New York and northeastern Pennsylvania, and some of our team members have been with us since opening day. Our philosophy is simple: It's Personal. That applies to how we treat our patients and how we treat each other. Patients can tell when a team works well together, and that's what we want in every office.
The Role
As Office Manager, you'll guide the Binghamton team day to day and help shape what it feels like to work here. We're looking for someone who keeps things running smoothly while making the office a place where people feel supported, appreciated, and part of something good.
Building the Team
- Coach and mentor a team with a mix of experience levels and personalities, adjusting your approach for each person
- Set clear expectations and follow through on them consistently
- Notice when things are done well and say so
- When something goes wrong, find out why it happened instead of just cleaning it up, then fix the process so it doesn't happen again
- Work closely with department heads and providers to keep everyone aligned
- Handle HR responsibilities, including onboarding and performance conversations
Running the Office
- Oversee daily operations and keep the schedule running smoothly
- Handle call-outs and late arrivals, and adjust coverage as needed
- Learn the front office role so you can jump in when needed
- Keep the team on track with practice goals
- Help organize local community events with the marketing & admin team
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience managing multiple staff in a dental or medical office
- HR experience a plus
- Clear, direct communication, with the ability to be kind and honest at the same time
- A self-starter and problem solver who stays steady when the day doesn't go to plan
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Experience with practice management software
- Discretion with confidential information
