Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing comprehensive dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control will ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for every patient. Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current health status to tailor treatment plans effectively.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA compliance.
  • Manage dental equipment operation, sterilization processes, and inventory to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing age-appropriate care and education tailored specifically for children’s needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to medical records, medical coding, and documentation review.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice dentistry in the respective jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience working in general dentistry environments with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as OpenDental for managing electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Ability to perform dental x-rays safely while maintaining patient comfort during procedures.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.

Pay: $65.00 - $72.00 per hour
