Position Summary
Dental hygienists work collaboratively with the dental team to make quality patient care a priority. Dental hygienists are licensed oral health professionals who focus on assessment, prevention and treatment of oral diseases, both to protect teeth and gums and to also protect patient’s total health. Dental hygienists interact with patients to provide information and education about products and services, and handle and resolve patient concerns with enthusiasm and empathy.

Requirements
State licensure
CPR certification
Essential Functions
- Greet and prepare patients for treatment in a delightful, enthusiastic and professional way
- Perform accurate oral health assessments that include, but are not limited to: review of patient’s health history, dental and periodontal charting, oral cancer screening, taking and recording of blood pressure and reporting findings to dentist
- Oral inspection and removal of both hard and soft deposits and stains
- Identify and manage periodontal condition
- Provide competent non-surgical periodontal therapy and follow-up care
- Present treatment plans and explain options
- Present consent form for SRP
- Discuss with patients the results of non-treatment and the effects on overall health
- Application of sealants and fluorides
- Take and mount quality x-rays
- Take dental impressions
- Record case histories and proper documentation related to treatment performed and recommendations made
- Educate patients about their overall oral health
- Sterilize and prepare instruments
- Disinfect and prepare treatment room
- Update patient charts as needed
- Assist patient with any follow-up regarding treatment or payment
- Handle patient concerns in a friendly, professional way
- Review schedules for accuracy and productivity
- Confirm patient appointments when time allows
- Check patient benefits when time allows
- Maintain files, observing absolute confidentiality
- Call in/ Print/ Document any patient prescriptions
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines
- Adhere to CDC guidelines
- Equipment maintenance
- Inventory and order clinical supplies
- Maintain neat and clean clinical area (dust/ wipe everything in room weekly)
- Respect coworkers
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy policy
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Be an advocate for Humlicek Dental
- Be at work on time as scheduled,
- Attend and contribute to daily huddles and monthly meetings
- Call overdue or future recall patients to fill schedule when there is a cancellation
- Help with payment, check in/out and insurance benefits when time allows
- Answer all possible phone calls during regular business hours
- Other related duties as assigned

Pay: $34.00 - $42.00 per hour
