_Registered Dental Hygienist _
Smiles N' More Dental is looking for a motivated Dental Hygienist to become a part of its wonderful team. This full/part time dental hygienist position will be reporting to the General Dentist (owner) directly and will have an integral role in patient care, including initial patient screenings, cleaning of teeth and advising patients on oral health and preventive care. The position will also provide opportunities for professional development through training and continuing education (CE) programs.

Other required duties include:
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Apply sealants or Silver Diamine Fluoride when recommended by the Dentist
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies
Education and Experience Requirements include:
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply)
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- A patient- friendly personality
- Attention to detail
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Valid license to practice

- Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, team members and community
- Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and team
