Job Summary
Our private general dentistry practice in Clearwater is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to provide comprehensive preventative care to our patients. This role involves performing clinical procedures and patient education to maintain oral health standards.

Duties
- Perform cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures.
- Perform periodontal assessments.
- Execute oral cancer screenings.
- Apply fluoride and sealant treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
- Capture high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and interpret images for accurate diagnosis while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review, treatment planning, and record keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain dental equipment, sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques, and ensure the clinic’s infection control standards are consistently met.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding treatment plans, procedures, and billing information while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Support the dental team by assisting with chairside procedures, preparing materials, and ensuring a smooth workflow during patient visits.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging techniques.
- Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, documentation review, and equipment maintenance is highly desirable.

Benefit and Compensation
