Job Summary

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, equipment, and materials while adhering to sterilization and infection prevention protocols.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort during procedures.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Support patient care by providing clear instructions, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and sterilization procedures.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies (HIPAA compliance).
  • Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is required; additional certifications in medical documentation or radiography are advantageous.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
