Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Dental Assistant who is relatively new to the field of dentistry but has at least two years of training. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow with our practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Take and mount dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Provide patients with oral care instructions following surgery or other dental treatments
- Ensure patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatments
- Present Treatment Plans efficiently and patiently answering any questions the patient may have
- Manage infection control - prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials
- Schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and coordinate billing and payment
Proficient Skills and Qualifications:
- Completed at least two years of dental assisting / training
- Basic understanding of dental procedures and terminology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software (Open Dental experience preferred but not required)
Must possess or be willing to learn the following skills:
- Gingival retraction cord packing
- Temporary crown fabrication
- Digital Intraoral Scanning
- Treatment Plan Presentation
- 3D printing models
- Design/milling and processing permanent crowns
- Adjusting removable prostheses
