We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and infection prevention management according to aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting duties including vital signs measurement, medical documentation, and patient management.
- Process and sterilize dental instruments following infection control standards to maintain clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a comfortable experience for pediatric and general dentistry patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential.
- Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and medical imaging devices is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection control policies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality.
- Certification in dental assisting or related training that covers chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and radiography is preferred.
