Job Description

Dental Assistant — Private Dental Practice

Suntree / Melbourne, FL
$22–$26/hour, depending on experience and clinical skills
Full-Time | 32–36 hours/week | Tuesday–Friday

We are a small, privately owned general dental practice in the Suntree/Melbourne area looking for a dependable Dental Assistant who wants to become an important part of our team.

We are not a high-volume corporate office. We focus on providing quality dentistry, taking excellent care of our patients, and creating an organized clinical environment where the doctor and assistant can work well together.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, organized, and willing to learn. Experience is valuable, but attitude, dependability, initiative, and the ability to improve are just as important to us.

Our goal is to find someone who is looking for more than just their next job — someone who wants a stable, long-term position where they can continue developing their skills and become a trusted part of the clinical team.

What You'll Do

Your main responsibility is to help keep the clinical day running smoothly while providing an excellent experience for our patients.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Chairside assisting with restorative, crown and bridge, implant, removable, cosmetic, and surgical procedures
  • Taking quality digital X-rays and clinical photographs
  • Preparing and turning over treatment rooms
  • Preparing instruments and materials before procedures
  • Sterilization and infection control
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Assisting with temporary crowns and other expanded functions based on training and certification
  • Keeping operatories stocked, clean, and organized
  • Helping maintain clinical inventory and supplies
  • Anticipating what the doctor needs and helping the clinical day stay on schedule
  • Communicating clearly, professionally, and compassionately with patients
  • Building positive relationships with patients and team members
  • Learning and following our clinical systems, checklists, and procedure setups

What We're Looking For

We would love to find someone who:

  • Shows up consistently and on time
  • Takes pride in doing things correctly
  • Can follow established systems and checklists
  • Is organized and pays attention to details
  • Is comfortable receiving feedback and continuing to learn
  • Notices what needs to be done without always needing to be asked
  • Works well as part of a small team
  • Treats patients and coworkers with professionalism and respect
  • Wants to continue developing their clinical skills
  • Is looking for a stable, long-term position

Dental assisting experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider someone earlier in their career if they have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and are highly trainable.

EFDA certification and dental radiography certification are a plus.

Experience with Dentrix Ascend is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Schedule

This is a full-time position averaging 32–36 hours per week.

Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
No evenings

We have morning huddles and team meetings because communication, preparation, and teamwork are important to how our office operates.

Compensation & Benefits

$22–$26/hour, depending on experience, certifications, and demonstrated clinical ability.

Compensation can grow as your skills, responsibilities, and contribution to the practice grow.

After one year of employment, eligible team members receive:

  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Dental Benefits

If you are dependable, enjoy dentistry, and are looking for a smaller private practice where your contribution matters, we would like to meet you.

Please apply with your resume and briefly tell us about your dental assisting experience and what you are looking for in your next dental office.
