Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and develop comprehensive orthodontic treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, including braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances
  • Perform orthodontic procedures with precision, ensuring optimal outcomes for both pediatric and adult patients
  • Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate patient care and treatment strategies
  • Maintain detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations
  • Educate patients on treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to ensure successful results
  • Utilize dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and treatment tracking
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all procedures to ensure patient safety
  • Stay current with advancements in orthodontics, including dental fabrication techniques, dental implants, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry

Skills

  • Proven experience in orthodontics with strong knowledge of dental diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Proficiency in dental office management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
  • Skilled in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex treatments clearly and compassionately
  • Deep understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging techniques
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques specific to dental practice environments
  • Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and other general dentistry procedures when needed
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience managing medical records securely in compliance with privacy laws
  • Strong organizational skills for managing medical documentation and dental fabrication processes
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics
