Orthodontic Registered Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are a friendly, privately owned orthodontic practice looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Registered Dental Assistant / Orthodontic Assistant to join our team!
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, detail-oriented, hardworking, and great with people. Our practice treats children, teens, and adults, so we are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and helping create a comfortable, positive experience at every visit.
*Orthodontic experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. *More than anything, we value a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and someone who works well as part of a team.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
- One Friday per month: 7:30 AM–3:00 PM

Responsibilities Include
- Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during patient appointments
- Prepare treatment areas and patients for orthodontic procedures
- Perform orthodontic assisting duties within the scope of your license and training
- Take digital scans, photographs, X-rays, and other patient records as permitted
- Assist with bonding, debonding, wire changes, adjustments, and other orthodontic procedures
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, elastics, retainers, and treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records
- Follow proper infection-control, sterilization, and aseptic protocols
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare treatment rooms between patients
- Sterilize and organize instruments and clinical supplies
- Monitor inventory and help maintain a clean and organized clinical area
- Communicate effectively with the doctor, team members, patients, and parents
- Help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently and on time
- Assist with patient records and administrative duties when needed
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the doctor
We Are Looking for Someone Who Is
- Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and/or qualified Orthodontic Assistant - license/certification required
- Has updated CPR Certification
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with children, teens, and adults
- Dependable and punctual
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- A strong communicator
- Able to multitask and anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients
- A team player who is willing to jump in and help where needed
