Lone Star Oral & Facial Surgery is growing, and we are looking for two exceptional team members to join our practice:

  • Experienced Oral Surgery Assistant
  • Front Office / Patient Care Coordinator

We are an independent, surgeon-owned oral & maxillofacial surgery practice, not a corporate dental group. We take pride in providing personalized, compassionate care & creating an environment where our patients feel comfortable, informed, & genuinely cared for.

EXPERIENCED ORAL SURGERY ASSISTANT

Starting Pay: From $35,000 per year, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced & highly motivated Oral Surgery Assistant to join our growing clinical team.

Would prefer candidates to have previous chairside experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Experience working directly with an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon or Periodontist in a private practice, hospital, or surgical setting is a plus.

The right candidate will play an important role in preparing patients for surgery, assisting the surgeon during procedures, supporting IV sedation and surgical workflow, & ensuring our patients feel comfortable & well cared for before, during, and after treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, & materials for procedures
  • Assist the surgeon chairside during oral & maxillofacial surgery procedures
  • Assist with surgical extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, & related procedures
  • Assist with IV sedation procedures & patient monitoring
  • Support efficient & safe surgical workflow
  • Take digital radiographs & assist with CBCT imaging
  • Prepare patients for procedures & help reduce patient anxiety
  • Provide clear post-operative instructions & patient education
  • Follow sterilization & infection-control protocols
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Assist with inventory monitoring & supply management
  • Help maintain organized, properly stocked surgical operatories
  • Work collaboratively with the surgeon, clinical team, & front office

Required Qualifications

  • Current Texas Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) license
  • Minimum 2 years of chairside dental surgery experience
  • Prefer experience working directly with an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon or Periodontist
  • Experience assisting with surgical extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, & IV sedation
  • Knowledge of OMS instrumentation, surgical protocols, sterilization, & patient monitoring
  • Strong understanding of infection-control standards
  • Ability to work efficiently & remain focused in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized & detail-oriented
  • Positive attitude & patient-first mindset
  • Team-oriented & willing to contribute wherever needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CBCT imaging & digital workflows
  • Experience with inventory & surgical supply management
  • Experience training or mentoring other clinical team members
  • Leadership mindset & willingness to take initiative

FRONT OFFICE / PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Starting Pay: From $30,000 per year, based on experience

Our front office team is the first & last impression our patients have of our practice. We are looking for someone who is warm, professional, highly organized, & comfortable helping patients navigate their appointments, treatment, insurance, and financial information.

Previous dental, oral surgery, medical, or healthcare front-office experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, professionalism, excellent communication skills, & a desire to learn.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly & professionally
  • Answer & manage incoming phone calls
  • Schedule consultations, surgeries, & follow-up appointments
  • Check patients in & out
  • Verify & update patient demographics & insurance information
  • Assist patients with registration forms & required documentation
  • Verify dental & medical insurance benefits
  • Prepare & explain treatment estimates & patient financial information
  • Collect patient payments & accurately document transactions
  • Assist with insurance claims & follow-up as needed
  • Obtain referrals, authorizations, & necessary records
  • Communicate professionally with referring dental & medical offices
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records
  • Protect patient confidentiality & follow HIPAA requirements
  • Help maintain an organized & efficient daily schedule
  • Work closely with the surgeon & clinical team to provide an exceptional patient experience
