Join our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Pediatric Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral health care to our young patients. Responsibilities

  • Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth for pediatric patients in accordance with best practices and safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations tailored to children’s needs.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
  • Educate young patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive dental care strategies.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems is Open Dental), documenting treatment details, medical records, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
  • Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment compliant with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, dental terminology, anatomy relevant to children, and medical terminology.
  • Experience with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and excellent client communication skills.
  • Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical assessment, and documentation review accurately.
  • Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to educate young patients about dental health while building trust and reducing anxiety.
