We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or RDA with expanded functions to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical operations.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging such as 3D scanners, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans.
- Provide chairside assistance by managing dental supplies, handling dental instruments efficiently, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote optimal outcomes.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while ensuring compliance with healthcare infection control standards.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient management software utilization, including dental receptionist duties when needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in clinical assisting within general dentistry environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices.
- Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Hands-on experience operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other digital imaging tools.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection control policies and medical records management aligned with HIPAA standards.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical imaging procedures confidently.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a professional attitude to foster positive patient interactions and teamwork within a fast-paced setting.
