Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
  • Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
  • Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Open Dental, ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing compassionate patient care tailored to pediatric and adult patients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and following infection control protocols diligently.
  • Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software, verifying insurance information, and guiding patients through their visit process.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
  • Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical documentation practices.
  • Skilled in radiography including dental x-ray techniques and proficiency with advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners.
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; familiarity with patient management software enhances efficiency.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous; ability to handle pediatric patients with patience and care is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a thorough understanding of medical terminology related to oral health care.
