We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient management.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment; ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in chairside assisting and understanding of four-handed dentistry principle.
- Understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; knowledge of medical coding is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
