Duties
- Supervise and mentor dental assistants to uphold high standards of clinical excellence and patient service
- Coordinate daily clinic schedules, ensuring smooth patient flow and timely appointments
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Manage dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Oversee sterilization procedures for dental instruments and equipment, maintaining infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques
- Perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry, X-ray imaging, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation
- Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy clinical setting, with strong knowledge of general dentistry procedures and terminology
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team of dental assistants
- Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar patient management systems
- Expertise in dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and medical imaging including X-ray and 3D scanner technology
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of anatomy, oral surgery techniques, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental equipment operation
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team
- Ability to maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records and documentation
