Job Summary:

Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise in oral health and patient care will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on optimal oral health practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities:

  • Perform dental prophylaxis procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, tartar, and stains to promote oral health.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
  • Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Follow infection prevention management protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements:

  • Valid OREGON HYGIENE AND RADIOLOGY LICENSURE.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry, with specific knowledge of pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and electronic health records management.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
  • Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, sterilization tools, and other clinical instruments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
