We are especially interested in a hygienist who is laser certified and authorized to administer local anesthesia in the State of Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy
• Perform periodontal assessments, charting, and screening.
• Utilize dental lasers for periodontal and hygiene procedures within the scope of Arizona licensure and certification.
• Administer local anesthesia within the scope of Arizona licensure, certification, and applicable regulations.
• Take necessary dental radiographs while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper radiation protocols.
• Review medical and dental histories, vital signs, medications, and relevant health information prior to treatment.
• Educate patients regarding proper brushing, flossing, home-care techniques, periodontal health, and lifestyle factors affecting oral health.
• Identify periodontal concerns and other dental conditions and communicate findings and treatment needs to the dentist.
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in the practice management/EHR system, Oryx Dental Software.
• Ensure all clinical notes and documentation are complete, accurate, and timely.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention, and sterilization protocols at all times.
• Properly operate and maintain dental hygiene equipment and instruments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
• Provide compassionate, professional, and individualized patient care.
• Work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, front office staff, and other team members.
• Support the overall goals, standards, and success of Goodman Dental Care.

What We're Looking For

• Current Arizona Dental Hygienist License in good standing.
• Laser certification.
• Local anesthesia certification/authorization appropriate for practicing dental hygiene in Arizona.
• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental practice or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, periodontal disease, and general dentistry.
• Experience with dental radiographs and dental imaging equipment.
• Familiarity with dental practice management/EHR systems.
• Strong understanding of infection control and OSHA standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to educate patients in a clear, positive, and encouraging manner.
• Compassionate and professional approach to patient care.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality patient care.
