Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including sealants, scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup periodontal treatment.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current oral health status.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatments, diagnoses, and patient interactions.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance as needed with dental equipment and supplies.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance by maintaining patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
- Support the overall operation of the dental practice by managing appointment schedules and ensuring smooth patient flow.
