Duties
- Perform advanced oral and maxillofacial surgeries including dental extractions, implant placements, cyst removals, and trauma repairs with precision and care
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, clinical examination, and diagnostic imaging interpretation to develop tailored treatment plans
- Utilize aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment during all procedures
- Collaborate closely with general dentists, pediatric dentists, prosthodontists, endodontists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care instructions to promote healing and prevent complications
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental terminology, medical imaging techniques, and anatomy relevant to oral surgery procedures
Experience
- Proven experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery within a busy dental clinic or hospital setting
- Strong proficiency with dental office management software including Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Demonstrated expertise in dental extractions,
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance regulations
- Ability to perform dental fabrication tasks related to surgical procedures when necessary
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on thorough patient assessment and effective communication of treatment plans
